Arizona Turquoise mines were the Sleeping Beauty Turquoise mine and the Copper Queen Mine in Bisbee Arizona and the Morenci Mine in Greenlee County Arizona which now is the only one open and it is one of the largest copper mine reserves in the U.S. and Turquoise is actually a bi-product of copper mining. The story goes that from many years ago because Turquoise was not as popular and the mines were copper mines, the miners would carry the turquoise out in their lunch boxes and sell to a local collector there near the Sleeping Beauty Mine. We do have our contacts there in Arizona and this is how we were able to acquire our stock of this beautiful Turquoise gemstone.
